Darrin and Kim Senn, Owners of The Koselig House Assisted Living and Memory Care of DeForest

Darrin Senn was born and raised in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin and was very close with his Grandma Marion Senn. Her influence on his life and her struggle with aging and dementia had a tremendous impact on Darrin and inspired him to eventually get involved in senior living.

“One of my favorite memories of my Grandma, was her smile,” shared Darrin.  “When Grandma smiled it lit up the room, you knew you were loved and safe. Plus, her cooking was amazing!!”

Starting at the age of 12 Darrin began working in construction, which was his family’s business.  After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin with a Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance he took his skill back to the family business to help ensure its success.

One of Darrin’s work philosophies is that “if you want to be a great leader, you need to have done the work yourself.” This mindset is one that you will see at The Koselig House, as he loves to be involved with the residents and help the Team however it is needed.

Darrin also believes in giving back to the community and has served on various boards for a variety of organizations (both non-profit and for-profit) and currently serves as the Board Chairman for Northwestern Bank.

When Darrin is not working in the construction field or at The Koselig House, you can find him enjoying his passion for music by playing drums and guitar or working on old vehicles with his children.

Since 2014 Kim has spent her time as a life coach earning her Life Coaching Certification and recently completed her Certification in Neurotransformational Coaching.  Kim has also successfully completed her Wisconsin Administrators License certification presented by WALA (Wisconsin Assisted Living Association).

Kim and Darrin’s passion for the elderly population started in the early 2000’s when they helped to take care of Darrin's grandmother, Marion, as she started to develop Alzheimer's disease.  Darrin and Kim worked alongside the rest of their family to ensure care and turns assisting her until she needed 24 hour care.

This experience led them to appreciate and understand how difficult the decision is to place a loved one in a community like The Koselig House.  It is why they have created a home and philosophy of care that emulates what Grandma Marion would have wanted and needed to ensure she received the highest quality, most personalized care and daily life possible.

“We feel honored to be entrusted with the responsibility for caring for our elders and those living with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia.  It is our honor and privilege to care for them and we pledge to strive to provide intentional care tailored to their needs and desires.”
